Well I've been at this game for 27 years and loving every minute of it. My First and only Hole in one happened on Sunday August 20th, I've been playing a regular Sunday AM game with two buddies steady for the last 7 years at Ocean Acres Golf Club in Barnegat,NJ we tee off at the crack of dawn.

So the last Par 3 the 13th hole is listed at 205 yds and not being a long hitter and also not having hit the green all year (I've pared and birdied the hole this year by chipping close or holing a chip) I pull driver choke down 1 1/2 inches tee my Pro V1 line up and let it fly. The ball takes one big hope on to the front of the green,"Yes I've finally hit the Green".

I was the last to tee off so we drive up my buddies are a little short so I saunter towards the green feeling great about being on in one. My one buddy (Lambros) thinks I'm short well the other (Bill) thinks long (I'm confident I'm on) the green is two tiered kidney shaped flag on the top right. So I look front no ball walk around back no ball(I mark my titleist's with a black dot Lambros says it must be an Irish thing because Rory Mclroy does the same) so I say What the heck and walk to the flag look down in the hole and there to my astonishment is my ProV with a black dot staring back at me., They heard my scream in North Jersey Lambros thought I'd have a coronary!!

I never was close to one before I've one a couple of closest to the pins at outings on short par 3's but was always underneath the hole.

Like I said 27 years in the making..
