I was playing a round with my cousin before his wife and him move to Utah. He asked me the day before if I could be their fourth and I was game. I had never played this course in Castle Rock before but we were the first group to go out and it was a crisp morning with great views. We were having a great round and everything was going smoothly until we got to the 17th hole. It was a slightly uphill par 3, into wind and the pin was tucked tight front left. There was enough breeze that I took an 8 rather than trying to push a 9. The minute I stepped up to the ball I did not like ball and even said that to my group before I swung. As soon as I hit the ball, I knew I had pured it. It was bang on line and nice and high. I am not a great iron player so I was already excited about the strike itself before I saw it land. I was playing a Pro V1 I had found and put in play earlier in the round. Thank god I was because the ball landed just beyond the hole, bounced once and spun back into the hole very quickly. I was in disbelief and was hearing my buddies go crazy saying "it's in!!!!". I didn't believe it until I walked up and saw it in the cup. Best part of the story is I went on to eagle the 18th right after that.
