While hitting balls to warm-up, we talk about me never making a hole-in-one. I comment that with over 20 eagles beyond 120 yards, it may never happen. Then I tell my friends I have to leave at 12:30 to keep my wife happy (we have guest coming over to watch the ballgame). After 16 we headed to the par 3, 17th and I stated “I’ll forfeit 18 but I’ve really got to go”! The hole is playing 157 yards in to a slight breeze, I hit 7 iron and it never leaves the flag, one bounce and in! I call my wife “sorry honey, I’ve got to finish the 18 and buy drinks”! After 30 years of marriage she understands and our friends will have to wait for lunch.
