I was representing St. Annes Old Links in a Handicap League fixture against Fleetwood GC. The format is 4BBB but only two of us, myself and one of our opponents, hit the green. The hole has a long, narrow green surrounded by hills and bunkers. On arriving at the green only one ball was visible. My opponent walked up the green while I wheeled my trolley on the uphill path above it. He shouted across that my ball was in the hole. He commented that the match had been tight but there could be no arguing that we had won that hole!
