Simon Waddington recorded a hole-in-one at his home club Stockwood Vale, Bristol on the weekend before Christmas. Simon is the 2017/18 Club Captain at Stockwood Vale and the first at the club to record an ace during his Captaincy year. The feat was achieved on the 6th at Stockwood, a 155-yd shot uphill to a raised green. The shot was also into the wind and played with a 5-iron. Finishing with a gross 74 he was cut back to 7 handicap (from 7.5 to 6.9) on the Par 71 / SSS 69 winter tee course. His previous ace was way back in 1988 at Upminster GC, Essex. Subsequently he has been cut again in the New Year to 6 (6.3).
