Standing on the 12th hole did I ever think this was about to happen... 124 yard par 3 playing front of the green around 100 yards... crisp shot with a 52° straight down the line of the flag, flew over the flag 10/11ft, spun itself up until it looked liked it sat on the edge for it to suddenly disappear! A moment of eruption as the 3 others I was playing with jumped up with joy, only to realise that i had done this on a christmas cannon event, where the golf club is closed and all members willing to partake are involved. On this day, between 140-160 people are playing, and I've just made a hole in one! Congratulations was being said on every hole your passing as they had all heard, and after all was said and done I had to announce to everyone incase they hadn't heard that the drinks was intact on me.
