I was playing in the R.M.Tonner trophy at Prestwick St Cuthbert with a couple of my good friends. We arrived at the 171 yard 7th hole, the first par 3. I have been close at this hole a few times over the years hitting the pin and lipping out. I stepped onto the tee with a bit of doubt in my mind what club to hit, picked out the 6, teed it up and flushed it, the ball pitched about 10 feet short right on line with the flag stick and it rolled straight into the hole. “It was my first ever hole in one. I’d never even witnessed one before! What a feeling! Then after the game it was straight to the bar to do some proper celebrating.”
