Great shot in the middle of a terrible round

I've just left the RAF after a 20 year career and was struggling to recover from a back injury sustained in a helicopter crash. This gives me an 'unauthordox' swing at best. The regular Saturday morning fiddle was low on numbers, so myself and Big Al set off with nothing sparkiling on the card. Then on the 10th hole at kilton the dreaded slice hits me! Normally I'm straight off the tee but this came out of the blue. 5 off the tee and not knowing what's going on I pressed. Then the 11th another slice out of bounds this time! So I grabbed the nearest ball from my bag as I stepped up to the short par 3 (110yrds)12th hole. The water jump. As the name suggests a short hole over aver accommodating lake. I took a 9 iron as I just needed the ball over the water. I hit it sweet enough, clearing the water, 1 bounce on the green and in the hole!! High 5's, and whooping followed. The rest of the round was as before and I lost shooting a 28 with an ace on the card. Luckily the club house wasn't full and the bottle behind the bar saved me digging to deep into my wallet.
