Ilkley is a stunning course near me and I was lucky enough to be playing in an invitation day last year. Unfortunately I was having a nightmare, finishing up with 15 points :(. The one highlight came at the Par 3 13th, a old fashioned par 3 length only 140 ish yards, tricky green with unforgiving bunkers and run off areas. The Pin was at the back and there was a slight wind into so it was a full 7 iron. Hit is great and the ball was tracking the pin. The ball bounced once and disappeared. Due to the pin being at the back we all thought it had bounced off the back of the green down a run off. The one and only occasion where after not seeing the ball over the back where the "I'll just check in the hole" actually worked. My one and only hole in one, the best bit, my son was caddying for me and witnessed the whole thing :)
