A good friend and his son were visiting me from out of state. They really wanted to play at Goat Hill Park a wonderful course in Oceanside, CA. It was a treat to join them for an early morning round. We were the first group out and none of us had much familiarity with the course. We approached the 5th hole called Palomar which was a slightly uphill par 3 with danger if you happened to miss to the right. As I took my swing I knew I had made solid contact but couldn't see where the ball landed. It was all over the flag and my playing partners said it was close and they couldn't see the ball anymore. I thought with my luck it may have spun off the back of the green. We drove up to the hole and my partners insisted I bring my camera up to the hole just in case. As I approached the hole I saw the ball mark about 2 feet in front of the hole and then finally saw the ball in the cup. I couldn't believe it - we all went bananas. It was a great moment shared with great friends.
