Father's Day at Willesley Park Golf Club on Sunday 21 June 2020. 16th Hole Par 3 144 yards. Not to breezy, the pin was at the back and chose my 8 iron. Struck it well and initially thought it was a little short but then it looked good and thought that could be close. The ball pitched 3ft before the hole and went straight in. The ball disappeared and i thought it maybe was behind the flag but also thinking that has gone in. My playing partner was jumping up and down saying it's gone in ,it's gone in. I was a little shocked and just wanted to get to the hole to check. That was the longest 144 yards i have walked. when we arrived at the green i to started jumping up and down with excitement. I have been playing this great game for 20 yrs and have come close several times but today has made all the heartache and frustration worth it and if i never play any better than my 9 handicap it's all good.
