It was on a misty December morning during a Gents Knock that my magic moment happened. The only down side was, we didn't see it! On the 177 yard 14th hole at Horsehay Village Golf Club, I took out my trusty 7 wood knowing it was the perfect club for the yardage. In the conditions, the middle of the green was the only shot. I remember I struck the ball so sweetly that my tee flew up and hit the peak of my cap as the ball headed on a great line towards the green. We lost sight of all our shots in the mist so headed to the green hoping for the best. I couldn't see my ball so we started searching around the green, in particular in the rough at the back of the green as it falls away. Nothing. On the verge of declaring my ball lost, one of my playing partners Nigel said "Have you checked the hole?" We were laughing when a voice above on the green called out "Titleist 4?" and there it was in the cup.
