Day 1 of Captain's, a two day competition, I tee'd off at 10:03 I've never had a hole in one and always hoped that I'd get to see it go in the hole.... We have a nearest the pin competition every week in our club competition on the 9th and 18th holes, run by the pro shop. I got to the 18th hole and was the last one to tee off. I hit a 6 iron and thought to myself, "ooh that looks good, might get nearest the pin" The 15 or so people watching from the balcony all raised their hands and shouted, so I presumed it must have gone in the hole. when I got to the green and looked, there it was, at the bottom of the cup Sadly, I didn't see it go in the hole though, the green is about 30m higher than the tee and it was on the top tier of the Mackenzie, but everybody at the clubhouse did They said it landed about 2m from the flag, rolled up and lodged between the flag and the edge of the hole, then the flag fluttered and it dropped in That's when I realised it was going to get expensive.... Never mind, I've got a picture of me holding the flag and the ball to remember it by, plus a large bar bill!
