I achieved the third hole in one of my 61 year golfing career at Hawkstone Park Golf Club playing in a seniors match v Wrexham on Tuesday 05 June - using a ProV1, of course! The conditions were sunny, warm and calm when I used a five iron on the 166 yard Needle’s Eye 9th hole on the Hawkstone course. The shot was hit perfectly straight at the pin and the ball landed in the hole after one bounce. I didn’t see it drop but I heard it! My two previous aces were achieved also at Hwkstone - on the third hole in 1979 and on the ninth hole on the Champioship course in 2003, again with a ProV1. I have the dubious privilege of being the longest serving member of Hawkstone Park GC and am proud to still have a single figure handicap - of 8.6!
