Tenby Captains Day Hole in One

Tenby Captains Day Hole in One

I was invited to play as a guest with the captain Neil Thomas as part of a 4 team Texas Scramble along with my son Daniel and his girlfriend Carly who is also Neil's daughter. We had a so-so round until the short 126 yard par 3 17th. As the senior of the team, I set my Titleist DT Trusoft ball on the yellow tees The 16th green was adjacent to the 17th tee and the group behind us waited on the green for me to tee off. There was a few titters from them when I pulled out my trusty old 9 wood that cost me the grand sum of £2.50 in a bargain bucket over 20 years ago I hit the ball sweetly and it landed on the front left of the green with the pin position situated near the back right of the green. My initial thoughts with it being only the second time I had played the course was 'oh well, at least its on the dance floor' but the ball then started very slowly to track down the slope in the direction of the pin Neil said, this could be close, and right enough the ball seemed to take forever, but rolled steadily and dropped into the cup to accompanying cheers from my group and the guys watching on the 16th green My poor old 9 wood was launched some considerable distance in to the air, but fortunately landed ok as it has not only been a trusty old utility club that has gotten me out of trouble on countless occasions over the years, but is now the most cherished club in my bag A hole in one is something that all golfers wish to achieve in their playing lifetime, but the actual feeling when you finally get one is something special. I wish that every long suffering club player out their is able to get one for themselves so that they can all get that same special feeling as I did Good luck to you all Jack Eade
