What are the odds ????

My Captains day was postponed from July to September due to England’s exploits in the World Cup and my original day clashing with the Sweden quarter final game . I managed to juggle things around to assemble my members to play on the 9th September .. Teeing off first as is customary on most Captains day .. I managed to have an average front 9 but a great back 9 in windy conditions .. I stood with confidence on the 18th tee at Lindrick golf club , one of the finest finishing holes in the world of golf , officially voted in the top 50 globally on a regular basis and the host of the 1957 Ryder cup .Home to more household names like Willet, Westwood and Fitzpatrick from the modern game .. I drew my 5 iron and tossed my NXT your on the floor , no tee , so found a nice green lie , one practice swing approached the ball and boom !!! The next couple of seconds of my life felt like an eternity watching the ball pitch short of the upslope to the green to bounce on the front edge as planned then to see the ball roll out from left to right inching closer and closer to the hole then the magic happened .. “it’s in, it’s in “ we’re the comments of my 3 playing partners at which point I was running around celebrating like I’d just won the World Cup for England... I don’t know if a Captain to get a hole in one on his Captains day is unique but if there is a club I’d love to join .. An excessive bar bill later in the Lindrick Artisans golf club followed but who cares ... Happy days !!
