  1. I am visiting Sydney in Feb 2019 and was curious what would be one or two great courses to play in the region. I am a member of a private club in the United states so I am not sure if that helps or is not applicable...some countries it makes a big difference.

    Thank you!

    Lethbridge,

I played at Pymble Golf Cub in Sydney. It is a private club that will most certainly test your game. The other course I played was East Lakes course near the Sydney Airport. A number of years back they held the Australian Open there I believe it was around 2009. A very good course greens were lightning quick.

Both courses are a great test of your game.

    Hi Chris,
I live in Melbourne not Sydney so I am far from an expert on Sydney’s courses. I do know though that there are some hidden gems outside of The Lakes, The Australian & New South Wales. I recommend taking a look at St Michaels or Avondale.
I am especially fond of Avondale because I had the chance to play 100 holes in a day there with the Adam Scott Foundation. Adam actually joined me for a few holes on the day, an experience I’ll never forget. I found the course to be challenging without being intimidating and was in immaculate condition.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Mark

you couldn't go wrong with The Australian or Royal Sydney or New South Wales. If you find yourself looking for a hit away from the city let me know.

Four Seasons in Sydney is a great hotel. Ask for a corner suite, you will get views of both the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House. Skip the hotel for dinner, walk about 300 yards down the street to Phillips Foote....you won't be sorry. Lots of great night life under the Opera House.

    Great insight, Thanks!

Chris, reach out to The Australian Club and the New South Wales Club. I found them both to be very welcoming,

Thanks for the lead! I am planing NSW GC and Australian now on the same day.... Whoa! That will be a long 36 hole day however it sounds like it will be worth it. Does anyone recommend, walking, a buggy, caddy?
  12. It was connecting up with some guys despite tough rain this week. Thanks to all that played!
