Hi TT,
Recently I was spending some vouchers and after paying for my new U500 3 iron ( where have U been all my life? ) I had a small balance remaining. Not quite enough for a dozen ProV1 but as I was curious about a new ball I’d seen, why not give it a go.
To my disbelief I found the new Trufeel to be even more suited to my game than the ProV1.
The feel around the green was nice but not up to that of the ProV1 however I noticed more putts dropping with the Trufeel. On putts under 10 feet I felt that the Trufeel came off the putter face with a bit more zip which I felt helped the ball stay on my desired line a bit longer.
Off the tee and on approach shots is where I like these balls the most. The low spin helps keep my natural draw to a baby draw if not a dead straight ball flight. On approach shots it holds nicely on the green and not spinning back excessively.
My only issue with the Trufeel is the red alignment lines. I understand that some people might find them useful but I find them a bit of a distraction. I prefer to use the alignment aids on my Scotty Cameron than any on a ball. In my opinion these lines lead to slow play as players constantly mark and re-align the ball before putting out.
Has anyone else had a chance to try the Trufeel? Definitely recommend to the budget conscious.
Good golfing,
Mark
