It's great to see your commitment to finding the right ball for your game. One thing to keep in mind in your search and evaluation is really to focus on finding the ball that will lower your scores and not to focus solely on one performance attribute.

If you can give me some more detail around what you are experiencing I will work with the team here to help you out. 

For example, when you mention that you are having trouble spinning the Pro V1, are you not able to hold greens with scoring shots and is the ball rolling out?

Also, how is the ball performing in other areas of your game? How does it perform on full swing approach shots with short irons?

What are you seeing with long iron shots? Is the ball flying straight or are you seeing a lot of shot dispersion?

Where are a majority of your drives landing? In the fairway or in the rough?

Sorry man - I don't buy it - with a solid strike, any ball will spin sufficiently enough to hold a green - especially a Pro V1!!!.  This is of couse barring any extraordinary circumstances, such as a flyer, or very hard, fast greens.

Do you really think people like Adam Scott, Rory, and all of these other geniuses of golf would play a ball that doesn't spin enough?  You have to strike it well for it to spin.

I would worry more about your technique and your swing, but best of luck in your search

If Proc V's were the best ball for everyone, everyone would be using them. There are a lot of great balls out there. Yes they are a great ball but they might not be the best for you. Play what works best for you and don't try and force the issue.

It may not be your ball ... Perhaps your grooves are wearing out on your clubs? You'd be amazed at how much spin you can achieve with new irons, especially Vokey wedges.

Another factor could be late summer greens, which are typically fairly firm this time of year. Any golf ball will have more roll out on firm greens. 

That's the fun of golf, there's always several factors that will affect ball performance.

Grooves being worn, or thin mean nothing as they are not what make the ball spin, they are for channeling debris while in the rough or under wet conditions you can spin a ball with no grooves at all, if you compress it. Spin rates have a lot to do with how the ball performs, and different people spin it differently. my son finally switched to the best ball made Titleist after experimenting with Burners, the burners ballooned and went nowhere, he now plays DT Solos and when he tested them, there was a 15 yard difference.

I know your asking that quistion in a biast forum so of course your going to get Titleist is number one answers. And im a Titleist ProV guy my self. I get given free golf balls at every tourny i play in. you know the complimetory door prize for showing up and playing. and if they arnt ProV's i tend to give them away. I've hit them here and there to give them a try. But my Old PGA Pro gave them this advice on golf balls as well as training.

So why do i give the others away in a brief answer: nowing how the ball will react thats what pros base their game off of and its just as important in the amature world. If your not a spinner that fine but if you know how far the ball will roll out then you can adjust your game to play to those comon results.

But more importantly to Your Question Is Titleist really the #one ball in golf: YES and i say this for these reason. More EURO,ASIAN,and PGA pros use these balls than any other ball on the market. and ite by almost more than a 10-1 margen on any given event. They are number one in sales every fiscal quarter of almost every year. Now im not telling you the Pro V line is for you but what i am saying is If the over whelming Majority of Pro's use this ball and they have the highs sales numbers dont you think they might be the best ball. Just saying they are a trully Proven equipment. and you can say that for almost everything titleist has done.

Enough of the "Titleist is the #1 Ball in golf already" so you should use it.  Taylor Made is supposedly the #1 Driver on tour.  Does that everyone on this board should blindly follow and buy Taylor Made Drivers?  I would think not.  Posting that you should use the Pro V because it is the #1 ball is doing a disservice to people who have legitimate questions.

In fact working at a golf course i get to do just that all the time when finding golf balls and so on and so forth. Some times playing whats "dominating" is not right for your game. I thought the same when i started playing golf, "yeah most pros play them so why not me?" well i found that to be a huge mistake. I actually found the older Pro Vs to really hurt my game and the old NXT Tour to be perfect for me. Untill the new ones came out. The cover combination with the dimple pattern has caused me to balloon almost all shots. That infact will give you a lot more spin but at a strong sacrifice of distance. Now not gaining the spin off the ball i dont think you quite hit it right. Im not agreeing with any one just remember if the ball dose not spin and stop or "hop and stop" play the ball back about a quarter to half a ball back in your stance. You more than likely are doing what i do on miss hits. You get the distance but that little gap dose not allow the ball to interact with the face and grooves just right so it will gain the launch but not the traction, or spin. Try sampling other balls then go back to the Pro V1 to see if it works. I personally love to practice with lower spin balls and force myself to relearn how to play spin on the ball. Mid ranged price balls that are spin balls usually have half the spin. So if you can get say a NXT Tour to hop and stop or back up, going to the Pro V1 you will back it 5-15 yards back. Also try swinging a bit easier and allow the club to do the work in other cases it can help the ball spin more. Hope i helped with this.

[/quote]Any time glad it helped even if it was a little haha. A lot of people have to realize one thing when it comes to equipment its all based dominantly on machine tests. So "forgiving" balls and clubs are all near square to ideal open 2 degrees at impact just moved the ball around for off center hits. There are some balls that really make a difference in flight. Thats where i would start to look. Start out with well seeing how you want spin control and Pro V1 preformance like others get, really try out a few rounds with the NXT Tour, every one i know calls it the poor mans Pro V. It really is close in all around play and is cheaper.

Just go with the ball that works for you... here's a thought, what ball did you use when you shot your best round ever? Stick with that ball until you shoot 10 strokes over your best score. Then switch to another ball, keep using it until you shoot +10 on your best round with the new ball... keep the cycle. Better yet make it +5 before you switch balls.

I'll just say that the ProV1x's are working for me, not only have I been shooting well lately but have been making shots that I have not before. And because of that I won't use any other ball...

If the Pro V1 doesn't work for you, try using the NXT series or the Pro V1x. I like the Pro V1, but it doesn't give me the same control and performance as the Pro V1x. I'd just keep using different Titleist golf balls until you find a model that works.

I am perplexedby your statement that you are not spinning the ProV1 enough for your liking, yet you are getting more spin from other balls.  All of the top shelf balls out there spin and I have tried them all.  The ProV1 ball is very good all around.  I really like the feel on putts and reaction from my irons.  I did not not see appreciable difference in spin between the other balls.   Ultimately you need to play the ball you score best with and have confidence in.  If you FEEL that you get more spin with another ball then good luck!  I wish you well.  I play ProV1x and believe it is a great ball!
