I've been working hard on my swing to bring my handicap down to an 8. Lately, however, I'm starting to wonder if my improved swing has made my current Pro V1x the wrong ball. The deal is that my ball flight is now higher than ever. Even the driver goes a mile high. It still carries 280+, but I get about a foot of roll. Irons are the same deal. My woods are 910D3 (dialed down to 8.75°) and a 15° 910Fd. The problem with such a high ball is that my home course has REALLY narrow fairways plus wind off the ocean -- not a good combo for a high ball.
When I go the range, the ball flight is not nearly as high, and I often hit the balls past the range boundaries. I know the Pro V1x claims a higher ball flight, but is that even for drivers and long irons? I changed to the Pro V1x because the Pro V1 was spinning too much for me.
