    Hi,

I am interested in buying the new AP1 or AP2 irons.  currently playing 775's w/ R NSPro 100 shafts.  i did a club fitting at Club Champion and they said my current shafts are too heavy & whippy for me.  they recommended the Aerotech Steelfiber 95 g shafts.  I know you don't offer those, so which custom shaft do you have would be the closest to this?    my clubhead speed w/the 6 iron averages about 76 w/the Steelfiber shaft or 72 w/my current shaft.  I tend to hit the ball low & my misses are left. I am 54 with a handicap index of 8.6 (10-11 handicap at Racine CC in WI).  also would you recommend the AP1 or AP2 or a blended set?  thank you

    GT

The Aerotech 95 is lighter although stiffer in the tip than the NS Pro 105T, so it will feel less "whippy". But comparing ball flights mechanically, it should hit the ball lower than the 105T due to the tip stiffness. After talking with our R & D, the closest shaft we have to that would be the DYG SL R300 soft stepped, but it also has a stiffer tip than the NS Pro 105T. If you want to hit the ball higher, have it lighter weight than the 105T and have it feel less whippy, the suggestion was to get an NS pro 950 Stiff which has a softer tip, but a firmer butt section so it will feel stiffer. Even though the AP1 are stronger lofted, they should hit the ball higher than the AP2's. Joe Burdess over at our regional center at the Glen Club might be a closer drive to Racine if you want to try that shaft. He does not yet have his NS pro 950 stiff as it is a new shaft for us, but should be getting it shortly. His number is: (847)832.6450

Gregg, I look forward to doing some testing with you. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can find a time to dial you into some new irons. Thanks, Joe Burdess Titleist Regional Fitter The Glen Club 847.832.6450
  4. I have the FiberSteel 80 gram shafts in my AP1's and they play GREAT. Had them fitted at Hot

Stixs in PHX, AZ and wouldn't trade them for the world. I think you will like the change if you decide to go that way.
