Ok. So I am wanting to buy the new Titleist SM4 wedge. 54.11 in dark nickel finish (reduce sun glare). When I got my AP2 irons early on this year they were customed designed for me as follows; 2 degress upright, half an inch longer with S300 shafts & 3 wraps under the grip. Now when I buy my new SM4 wedge do I get that custom made the same as my irons as well? Or do you just get it as it comes in the shop with standard spec's with the Titleist wedge flex shaft? Any ideas

I hit my 54 about 90-100 metres. Thanks for your help

I would certainly order the wedges custom. Typically with wedges you will want them to be a little shorter and flatter than your irons. This is because you play more half shots and have to constantly adjust for stance and lies. Sight unseen, I would recommend +1/4" in length and 1 degree upright. Keep the grips consistent. I would love to see a broader discussion of this topic.  my current wedge set is "off the rack" and regripped (midsize) and I have had a bit of experimentation with some of them (I have lots of wedges) on lie angle.  My iron set is similar to that described above: .25" long, 2 degrees up, 2 wraps of tape.  As a left-hander I am already handicapped in wedge selection (especially what is available in a store to try) but how do you really get the right fit in a wedge...time for a video from BV.

Great suggestion Tom! We'll see what we can do on the video front. In the meantime, here is a link to a great webcast from earlier in the year with The Voke. He has some great advice and stories in these videos. They are definitely worth checking out.

Hi Joe. Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate your advice. Do I just get the standard wedge flex shaft (I do hear this is like a S200)? or do I get a S300 shaft? My grips are the standard Titleist grip so should I stick with that or for my wedges go for more of a feeling stickier grip? I will make sure my 60 has the same grip. Thanks

The S200 shaft is a great wedge shaft for players using S300's in their irons. It is a little softer feeling to gain a little more touch around the greens. I advise keeping grips consistent throughout the set.
