  1. Im going to buy a D2, but can't decide on a shaft. I have tried the RIP 60 which netted this: 10-12 LA, 132 BS, 1700-2200 RPM, Attack angle -1 - +1, 92 CHS. I also tried the Kahli 65 with these results: 14-16 LA, 132 BS, 3500-3700 RPM, Attack angle -1 +1. Any thoughts/suggestions would be very helpful. Dale Barnes

Hi Dale! What loft and setting were you trying? The RIP numbers are very close to optimal, but the spin and launch are on the low side of the spectrum at that ball speed. The Kaili appears to be too soft and spinny for you... If you can find a combo that produces: 132 ball speed, 13 launch, and 2400 spin... you'd have optimal conditions. If those optimal conditions feel right, and look good to your eye... you will be in fine shape for the season. Always keep in mind that the better you become, you don't necessarily need perfect launch conditions. Confidence is always #1. Head over to PGATour.com and pull up the stats for your favorite players. They are now reporting launch conditions for drivers and it's very interesting. You'll see it at the bottom of the player's stats.
