Rentals drive me to 714s, but need fitting

    Last week I had the good fortune of having a complete set of Titlist clubs while playing Monarch Beach Golf Course, Dana Point, Cali.  I had 714s in the bag, plus a 10.5 driver, three wood, a seven wood equivalent hybrid, and a Scotty Cameron putter.  When I hit my first seven iron I was hooked. I want to replace my complete set of clubs with new Titleist but know I need a fitting.  Where can I find a fitting near Washington DC?

    Larry Bleich is at the Fitting Studio at Westfield, just west of WDC in Clifton and his number is: 703-988-0187.  Roger Hatcher is at 1757 in Dulles, VA and his number is: 703-444-0901.  Both are Advanced Fitters and and have a good selection of shafts for the new irons.

    About 2 years ago I went to the 1757 fitting center. Roger fit me into a complete set of Titleist CB irons, woods (driver & 3 wood), 3-hybrid and Vokey wedges. The fitting center is set up so that you can actually hit out into the range and not just into a net. Roger spent 3 hours with me and only charged me for 2 hours. Absolutely the best experience I have ever had getting fit.

    I'm in Anchorage but travel around the state so anywhere is okay.

    Hi Mark,  I have been talking with our Alaska rep trying to figure out how to get fitting clubs to a location near you.  Do you ever get to the lower 48?

    We are currently setting up a demo day at Chena Bend GC in Fairbanks on May 3rd, but that is 8 hours away from you.  Although it is military, if you show your registration and license, you will be able to get to the golf course.  If that is not on your schedule, that's okay.  We will try to figure something else out in Anchorage.

    The event at Chena Bend in Fairbanks was cancelled for May 3rd and they will reschedule later during the summer.  What we are going to do is to send some fitting tools to Fox Hollow in Anchorage for you   Can you contact Rob at Fox Hollow GC and let him know when you can see him for a fitting?  Give us about 3-4 days to send up the fitting equipment.  I will IM you with more details.

    Cathie - thanks.  Westfield's and Clifton are but a stone throw, or a few good driver shots, from my house.  I'll give Larry a call.  Thanks ever so much for your help and I'll let you know how the fitting goes as my plan is to outfit my bag from driver to putter with new Titleist clubs.
