my swing speed is 103-110 with fairly smooth tempo, not a quick transition from the top of the backswing to the ball.    My current set up is a 9.5 905r with a stiff ys-6.  My naterial shape on solid shots are dead straight to a 3 yard draw.

With the stock shafts in the 910 being the kai'li(blue), iliama(red), and ahina(white).  The RIP and project X being the other options anyone have any recommendations or advice that can help me choose.

     Thanks

  2. If you can, go get fitted for the right shaft. You'll be glad you did.

If, however, you can't go...if you like your YS-6, check out it's specs online, then find a shaft for the 910 that's closest to it in comparision.

    Hi Ryan,

A bit of a late reply but I only got to demo the 910 this past w.e..

I play the same 905R with the YS-6+ shaft as you. My launch and spin numbers with the 905R are pretty good and I unfortunately have to say that although the 910's face definitely feels hotter the stock shafts on offer didn't fit at all... I am actually quite disappointed as the club head of the 910 is really tempting.

Fitters where I live don't carry other shafts that the 3 Diamana, the RIP, the Project X and the Graphite Design Tour-AD so it's a no go on the purchase for me at least for the time being.

Please let me know when you find the right shaft.

    Thanks

    Adrien

I think that the YS-6 shaft is still available...it is a great shaft.  The issue may be is it compatible or will it work well with 910 head.  I would email the custom department at Titleist and ask their opinion.  If not try the Aldila VooDoo VS6.  I switched to Aldila when I got my 905 driver and have played with them ever since.  The VS6 has about same specs as YS-6.  Also, if you have to choose from the shafts listed as "stock", The Project-X is probably the closest, but is a little heavier than the YS-6.  When I get mine, I am going with the Aldila RIP 60...

    GOOD LUCK!!!

    Aldila VooDoo VS6

    Thanks Matt,

I have the same concern as you regarding compatibility of the YS-6 and the hotter head of the 910. I was also advised to try the Aldila Voodoo and Aldila NV65 if I can. There's another demo day on saturday so I will try again and hopefully find what I need.

    Best regards

Your in luck man...I have the same swing speed and shot shape and by your tempo description...I'm about the same... I tried out the Project X shaft and that thing is MONEY!!! I had about a 270 carry with + 15 roll. VERY stable shaft with great feedback...I used the 5.5 shaft because I like to tone down my swing quite a bit and work the driver a lot...if you like to go at it 100% every time I would suggest a 6.0. Regardless, I would go get fitted at a Golfsmith just so you know what setting will fit you best. I ended up with the B-1 setting because when I go after it I tend to draw it more... I would also suggest staying away from the RIP shaft...I tried it out and it was WAY too floppy. This is just my experience feel free to disagree with me.
