  1. So as the subject mentions. I wanted to hear some opinions. I went to a Titleist premier fitting partner (they also have all other types of brands) and got fit for irons. I am currently a 12 handicap shooting in the high 80s and low 90s sometimes and play once a week and practice once a week. I have been playing some cally steelhead XRs for about 3 years now but since these are game improvement irons and never got fit for them, I decided to spend some more money and actually buy a set of clubs that would be fitted for me.

I tried all types of different shafts and heads from the P790 the P770, Srixons, cally apex, T150 and T200. At the end of the day the fitter recommended me to stick with the T150 w/ an extra stiff shaft 120 gram dynamic gold. I was very surprised with this because from what I have read, these irons are for single digit handicap. However, the number look great (TRACKMAN). Fairly consistent at 170 yards with a 7 iron. Height was at 110 average, spin rate a around 6,000 rpm. And the dispersion was very tight. What are y’alls opinions in regards to a low mid handicap using such Irons?

First, handicap alone is never a good indicator of what clubs to get. There are a lot of factors that lead to a handicap number, only one of which is the ability to hit your irons. If you do not suffer from a lot of mis-hits and the T150 feels good, no reason to question whether it is the right club for you. If you feel your iron game is the weakest link in your golf game, only then would I recommend another fitting with a goal to correct whatever that issue might be. For some it might be distance, for others it might be frequent mis-hits, or maybe flight patterns. If your goal is to lower your handicap, look at all contributing parts of your game. If your goal is enjoyment, play the clubs that feel and look great to you.

Congratulations!!! The T150 irons are the best looking clubs out there right now and if they work for you that is great.
That's why so many times you will see a response on here to "GET FIT". Check your ego at the door and get a professional fitting and the vast majority of golfers will be happy with the result.
This spring I am going to upgrade, and I have my eyes on the T150. Unfortunately my fitter knows my swing better than I do, so pretty sure I won't end up with them.
Let me rephrase that - "Fortunately" he knows my swing better than I do.
    Enjoy!!!

Always been a game improvement club user. Got the best results with decent angle and consistent distance with T-200. Did you try the T200 as well as the T150? Were you fit for height and descent or just for best distance? If your fitter explained the choice then go with the T150.
  5. Got with your gut. I play off 13.3 at the moment and got fitted with T100s last year when i was a 16.4 and dropped 3.1 shots. this is mainly because im ok with woods and irons.. just not ok with wedges and putters! I absolutly love the clubs and i actually have more confidence hitting them than my old g400s.. which is saying something! t150 are a fantastic club and you are 100% good enough to play with them.

Trust the fitting process, but you have to be a believer. I guess what I mean is, this is a big investment for most of us. You need to be comfortable with the decision. If you have doubts, my recommendation would be to repeat the fitting process and compare results. As someone with a similar handicap I know my swing varies a bit day to day.

All that said, I was fit for T150 5-PW with a T200 4-Iron. Was all about gapping and keeping an appropriate decent angle. Love that 4-Iron and am really happy with the T150s!
