Trying to hit more draw, I played with shafts and settings.. I was fortunate to have RC fit me with his 5 min fit concept and it worked. Still struggled with a fade on the course so I tried the opposite recommendation to the fitting matrix. I set my 910 D3 to the more fade side and it actually straightened out and drew better flat than upright. Ball flight went down so I added loft. I never would of guessed to try this but I'm sold. Don't be afraid to experiment with fitting and settings. It is an art as well as a science.

Bam!  Wait until you see what a Trackman would say about your changes...  :)

  3. I've had the same experience! I set my D2 up for the most closed setting they had trying to hit a draw and now I'm actually at the d4 setting which is slightly open for a fade. Its really weird  I don't hit the closed face very well at all.

I would think that would be an indicator that you are doing something wrong, closed face hitting a fade, my guess the face isn't closed at impact.

Does it really open the face or just flatten the lie angle when you set it to C4?

C-4, the most explosive of settings, flattens the lie and, adds .75 loft and slightly closes the face.

According to the grid, doesnt C-4 open the face to "promote" a fade? I tend to hook/draw and I have it on this setting to help reduce the hook/draw. Thoughts?

C-4 is actually flat to promote a fade with a smidge more loft.  But anything on the far right side of the right handed performance chart helps promote a fade with the most help at C-1.

Ryan, you say that C-4 is the "most explosive of all settings". Can you elaborate on that for us? Why do you say that? Thanks.

Funny you should ask!  We simply use code names for some of the settings so as to not confuse the players and get them a little fired up.  We want them focused on hitting, not specs.

C-4 is a military term for plastic explosive!  So common code names we use when circumstances warrant:

"Hey Spencer, Captain Lyle needs a 910H 21 in "Dynamite."  (C-4: flat and little more loft)

"Mr. Cantrell, you are 'bombing it!'  Spencer...he's a Stealth Bomber." (B-1: flat, standard, loft)

"Mr. Redmond, you are classic.  Spencer, give him the steak sauce." (A-1: standard, standard)

So, we are just having some fun with the settings. Players look at the chart and get confused.  Bombers and dynamite are more fun.

C4 is explosive in mine. Seeing more fairways and in places I haven't been before. Even with  different shafts the setting seems to be the one for me. If I want a bit higher shot on the less windy Texas days, maybe I'll stray to D4
