I am currently using the Kombi S and it is a great putter. I have heard from someone who just bought a Kombi S that they will not be changed and may be discontinued. Go for it.--Jerry

  4. thanks for your reply jerry.not able to try out the putter as its not in our proshops.have used a newport 2 for many years and love the contact feel and sound with ball strike.from my review reading they are saying that the milled steel duplicates this feel/contact quite well as opposed to the kombi (aluminium head) perhaps aluminium produces a duller contact sound. Also our greens are fairly slow and a heavier head promotes better roll on slow greens.Have tried an odyssey 2 ball putter and feel that the swing pendulum is easier with a mallet especially in the backswing ie stays on track better.have a tendency to go a little outside in the back swing.I am able to order today from my pro-shop where i work as greenkeeper-i think im going to go for it Jerry but am asking some questions as expense is an issue for me.how is your distance control with the mallet-am hearing it is a little trickier with mallets until one gets used to it.regards Ian. A final positive reply from you will help me decide !!!

    Ian,

Since Scotty just released the new putter line, we won't know if he is considering releasing another model of the Kombi S in the future.  That is something that he decides later on and we don't find out until he is ready to release the model to the public.
