6-PW with DG R300 shafts and dialed in. Granted they are 2008 models. I originally went to Golfmart and bought the 7,9 and P out of a set that was missing the 8 iron (got the 8 iron from eBay). Picked up the 6 iron this AM. The 9 and P got the same distance as the Eye 2 8 and 9 irons and were rather easy to hit. Practice was pretty good; just had to get used to 80 yard pitch shots with the P. I took the 7 iron out on the golf course Friday and dropped one 6 ft from the pin from the 150 marker. I may possibly relegate my 7H to being a utility club again. I sold my Eye 2s on Craig's List last week.

Congratulations, Lou.  I do agree with you on fairway woods, but, gosh darn, my AP1s are so much fun to hit that I gave up my 5H and went back to the 5I.  Formerly used the 5I (Cobra SZ) as a rescue club from behind trees only to get onto fairway.  I have a 4H but I'm almost sorry I didn't get a 4I as well.  If I can find one I might give it a whirl (LH, so the odds aren't great).  The 6I was my 135 club, but I'm going through greens 147 to the center now.  The last time on the range, it was falling behind the 150 sign.

The Titleist fitting was a reward to myself for working on my game, so the surprise package was the improved flight and distance.

My only issue is I am so spoiled with my SQ2 5H and 7H because I just about don't miss with them. I'd been having issues with the Eye 2 5-7 irons and using the two hybrids has shaved 2-3 strokes off my 9 hole score. I am enjoying the increased distance with the AP1s so far. Gotta admit that it did feel great to hit a 9 iron 130 yards again (I did that many years ago with 1967 vintage X31 irons and could also do that with Golfsmith P2 irons in 2007). Distance is pretty much easy for me because I know that I hit a golf club with a certain loft a certain distance, regardless of vendor (I know that a 45* loft club is going to hit somewhere around 115 yards or so). I get the same total distance with the AP1 7 iron as I do with the SQ2 7H but more carry with the latter. We'll see what happens with the 6 iron. It has been a bit of a nemesis since 2006. I've been faring better with a 31-34 deg hybrid since then. In regards to the fairway wood... I've had a Burner 2007 steel 7 wood for a year and a half now. Just haven't found a 2H-4H that could get the distance it does or even a 4 or 5W.

I'm having too much fun hitting the 6 iron.

Got the 8 iron so now my iron setup is complete (keep in mind that I use a 5H).
