Hi Gayle,  We have not seen that happening to shafts.  When a headcover is not used and the shaft is rubbing against the bag, you can possibly see paint rubbing off at the point of contact or when a head is rubbing against an exposed part of a shaft, it can rub the paint off a graphite shaft.

I play once a week & have a 14 way titleist cart bag on a motocady m1 pro very anal about putting my head covers back on, I think it's a fault with shafts as needed 2 new shaft in 6 months, as I said earlier Titleist h replaced them with no problems 

We haven't seen incidences of paint failure in the US on shafts that were protected by headcovers.  If the shaft rubs against the bag or is unprotected by a headcover, it can eventually wear off the coating, but as far as being protected and having paint failure, we have not seen that happening here.  QA is looking forward to seeing the paint on Gayle's club to see what might be causing it to rub off because he has been using the proper headcover and the shaft was covered. 

Forgot to add its not happened to my 915f or 915h both have Diamana Red Board Reg Shafts.

as I said earlier I only play once a week, and very anal about head covers much to the amusement of my playing partners.

As they play Tmag & Adams I don't suppose there too bothered about their Bats !!!!

My pro shop & I first thought it was a bag fault, it looks more like a shaft fault now as I dont seem to be the only one with this problem.  But as I said before Titleist have been first class about replacements, it's just a pain in the butt for everyone concerned,

A bit concerned about how my new leather head covers will protect the said clubs ? As a lot shorter than sock version.

My 915 D2 is going back on Tuesday for second new shaft seem to think it's my titleist cart bag as it's not happened to

my fairway or rescue woods, changed the first with out aut any heart ache. 

Service has been very good so far, have to wait & see about this one !!!!

Yes, this is happening to me also. I use 3 different Titleist bags, depending on weather, carrying, or using push cart.

In my opinion, the head covers are just a little too short and do not protect the shaft from rubbing.

I am a walker, have a Titleist cart bag, and push a Clicgear cart.  I carry a combination of 915, 913 and 910 clubs and none of my shafts have experienced this problem.   The shaft on my 910D3 is like new, because I just put it on my 915D2 head.  I like to tinker.  My question would be to those who are having problems.  Do you ride electric/motorized carts?  Because if you do the clubs do bounce in the bags on those carts and would cause the shafts to rub against the bags.  Also folks have a tendency to leave their head covers off the drivers, fairways, and hybrids when riding in a cart and place them in the basket behind the seats. Additionally, failure to completely put ones driver in the well properly in the bags can cause damage once the cart starts to move.  These are a few things I do notice when I walk with riders and when I worked as a ranger/starter.     Just food for thought.

I also walk so i dont think ridding in a cart is the problem
