I have read some reviews where the player has had a problem with the durability of the finish on Titleist irons.  Since I'm about to pull the trigger on some AP1's or AP2's I'd like to know if anyone has or has not had any issues with their irons.  Thanks!

The finish on our AP1 irons is a high polish over stainless steel so the finish will wear off over time.  Using that finish makes them  more resistant to dings, but less resistant to scratches.  On the AP2 irons, it is a chromed finish over carbon steel and this finish is more resistant to scratches, but less resistant to dings.  This finish will last longer than the high polish.

Just got the 716 CB and the chrome finish chips off very easily ! For the amount of money they cost I would hope the durability would be better .  The tungsten in the club is great but having to coat the club with the chrome finish isn't going to work well in my opinion. Looks like I will be returning a 1200.00 set of clubs and go back to the 714 CB . I hope they have a fix for this since I really enjoy playing titleist .

  4. Hi Matt,

I am sorry to hear about the issue you are having, and want you to know we would be more than happy to bring your irons in under warranty for inspection. Please take them to your local golf shop and have them contact our warranty and repairs department.
