i being a senior golfer have found getting fit is your best way to go if you have any of the bigger golf stores in your area or a local golf pro do that I was fit for every set of Titleist irons I have owened including the one I have now the 716 ap1 do not buy off the rack as that doesn't work . You can be fit for what you need not what they want to sell you off store stock.titleist irons are I feel(when fit the best for any age golfer). Titleist makes the best in my opinion.

Earl, I think a lot of people will respond with AP1 irons.

ap1, if your wanting to improve your skills and trying to cut come chuckyness  down off your irons. you should go try out the ap2.

lot good things I've heard from those clubs. i find it's easier to hit the sweetspot every time with a blade then an Gi iron.

716 line claiming to be way more forgiving then the past line up. jus really depending on are you wanting to stay where your at or

trying to improve your game with some irons that gives way more feed back and feel with more control.

  5. Earl, titleist has a great selection of irons, if you are a 23 handicapper I would suggest the ap1's. But also the best route would be to go get fitted. Hit em' straight!

    I second that.

The AP1 is the most forgiving iron Titleist offers, and would be great for a 23 handicap to play all the way down to a 10.  They are long, they love to hit the ball high and straight, and don't lose a lot of distance on mis-hits.

It's important that you try to get custom-fit for your set, to make sure that you get the right shafts and that your length and lie are adjusted to fit you and your swing.

As Harry recommends, irons fit your you will be the best. AP1 is the most forgiving and with a good fitter, you can get a shaft and flex to match your game. Off the rack is for an average golfer - let's face it, we're not average.

AP1 will probably be the most forgiving. Go get fit for some if you are uncertain

Let's start from the beginning, have you had any lessons? If not I would start there. Then if you haven't improved enough in your opinion go to a fitter and get the clubs fit to you.Good luck and hit um straight, Dave...
