Hi my name is chris and I am a 20 handicap. I have been holding for 2 years and I am in love with the game. I started playing the 714 ap1 and liked them but I really didn't feel like they where the ones for me so when I saw I could pre order the 716 ap2 I did.  And yes  a lot of people told me the ap2 where to good of a club for me but boy where they wrong. I have gained 1 club longer and so much more control.  The clubs fit my hands and swing so well. The feel of the ball coming off the face is effortless.  I am a Titleist man for life.  My wife and my 10 year old son both play the 714 ap1. And my 5 year old just plays a starter set. All four of us have custom Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 putters. A lot of people look at me and say its a waist of money for all that but I look at it as a investment .  I customized our putters so hopefully they will want to keep it in there bag for a long time and they will have a story to tell there kids and hopefully do the same for them. This is my first time posting on here and just wanted to share Alittle bit about my story.  Thank you team Titleist for the amazing equipment .  My family is a Titleist family

Sounds like you did it the right way for you and your family.

I'm interested to hear as a 20 handicap do the AP2s limit your scoring capability in any way?

I'm interested as well to see how these irons work for you considering your handicap! I'm more than hoping that your experience can go against the grain of the majority saying "these clubs are for X player, or X handicap".  I can't give you any personal insight on an AP2 model since I've never played them, but I do want to say that I also have a Newport 2.5.  I will never, I repeat, never sell this putter.  It is beautiful, it is soft, it is sure, it is classic, and it is a godsend for my stroke.  This will stay in my family for as long as I have a say in it.

I agree about the naysayers.  Getting the right club is all about the correct fitting and the shaft that drives that head.  I don't care if you are hitting a CB, MB, AP2, or AP1 and you are not fitted with the right shaft, you are going to hit the ball poorly, loose distance, accuracy, well.........overall performance will suffer enough to make you want to change those clubs way too often....

I agree with you 100% since I got fitted for my ap2 with the dynamic gold I strike the ball so much better. I had the expertise in my AP one and there's nothing wrong with them but they just are not for me
