Hey Team!
I'm getting my first complete club fitting sometime within coming weeks. Most of this past season I played a 10.5* 915 D2 with the Speeder Motore VC 6.0 shaft. I had my most successful season ever in regards to finding fairways (average 78% fairways hit over 58 rounds). Over 6 weeks ago I made a huge mistake by selling this driver and buying into some solid marketing for another driver that would ensure that I would "leave no yard behind". Without being fit, I purchased cally's Great Big Bertha driver in nearly the same spec as the 915 D2. I have played terribly with this driver and have tried many things to get it to work for me. I just can't. Why do we as humans always try to fix something that isn't broke? A very hard and sad lesson learned.
Now getting to the point....
I'm going back to the 915 D2, no questions asked unless the Titleist fitter recommends a different Titleist driver for me based on what he sees. One thing I absolutely love about many of the newer drivers coming out (my GBB included) is the flat/matte black finish on the crown. I know there are polarizing opinions to this look. However, it looks extremely classy to me and not having any glare off the crown is amazing. My question is, when ordering through a Titleist fitter and dealer, what cosmetic custom options for the driver are available, if any? Perhaps MOTO would be able to apply a matte finish to the crown when ordering from them? I know it may seem like a silly/trivial thing, but I am still curious regardless.
Any info or input on this would be awesome! Thanks guys and play well!
