Thinking about picking up a new set, I have yet to try them out. Any personal favorites for anyone?

My last two sets have been AP2's and my next set will probably be AP2's. My suggestion would be to get fitted and see which one you like best and what performs best for your game and swing. The last time I was fitted I went in with the idea of getting the AP1's but for me, they just did not perform as well. Make sure you use a certified fitter and trust the fitting.

Brian,
DITTO to what Jonathan told you, it's only way to truly know which is best for you!!

AP2's are pretty darn nice.

First, I play 714 AP2 but have considered AP1. In fact I had a fitting today and once again the AP2 came out better. My pro made a good point. Since I hit it out of the center of the club (we used impact tape etc) I can play either. It comes down to distance, ball flight hight and how the club looks behind the ball. Yes, I hit the AP1 farther but too high and don't enjoy the way the club looks behind the ball. So for me I choose AP2. If you tend to hit off center or struggle with distance and or hight, AP1 could be the best option. Hope this helps both a great irons.

in a limited trial situation I found both clubs were impressive in their own right. The AP1 had better feel than anticipated.

The first two replies nailed it for you. Definitely/absolutely must get fitted for the club. Once fitted properly, I could almost guarantee that it'd be your own favorite club.

+2 Get fitted...
I currently play the AP1s and love them.. Very forgiving and just love the feel of them.. And that's what the fitter recommended.. :) Good luck and keep us posted.

Your best bet is to get fitted. This will allow you to find the set make up that best suits your game. I have been fitted for my last few sets of Titleist irons and have been fitted into the AP2's.

Just got my new 716 AP1's yesterday. I was riding the fence on which ones to get, 1's or 2's. Man, I am very happy with the AP1's. They look like the old AP2's. Little slimmer than before and look like a forged club. If you are undecided, go hit both of them and be sure to get fitted. You will only get better if you don't have the right dynamics. Have fun and enjoy whatever you decide upon!
thanks for all the responses guys! I figured i'd let you all know, that i've been fitted for the AP1's. I really like the feel of the club in my hans, and the feel at impact. both great clubs though!

AP2, their is a reason Spieth plays them. Even the best need a cushion when they hit one off of the center. I bought the 710's the week they came out and still game them.

It depends on how much you play and how well you play. If you are good striker of the ball go with Ap2 if you tend to mishit here and there go with Ap1. The Ap2 lin have a smaller clubhead and are more workable. But I know plenty of guys with forged irons and stiff shafts who should really be playing game improving irons.
