I am a 5 handicap. I currently have a 714 AP2 3 Iron and a 714 H Hybrid 21 degree. I want to switch out my hybrid for the 716 T-MB 2 or 3 iron. I am looking for a little more control and something I can count on off the tee to get me in play on shorter par 4s.

My question is how much further should I expect the T-MB 3 iron to go than my 714 AP2 3 iron. Also, my hesitation with the 2 iron is I am afraid its going to be too difficult to hit off the deck. Does anyone have experience with either of these clubs?

    Thank you!

I just got my set last week, 2-GW and am really enjoying them. (also a 5 handicap) I will play them for the first time this Friday, but have been to the range 4 times to figure them out. I am coming from a set of 712 AP2s in 3-P. First thing: they are really easy to hit! I could hit shots with my AP2s and so far am having no trouble hitting shots with the TMBs. They are excellent at going straight as well. In my experience the distance seems similar to the AP2s but the feel of the clubs is really nice. Many club review sites, if they have a complaint about the TMBs, is that they are 'clicky.' It is not loud at all and actually feels pretty solid in my opinion and I think the criticism is a stretch. My 3 iron flies slightly lower than my AP2 3, but it isn't a problem. On the other hand, the 2 iron is pretty low - like stinger trajectory low. Our local course is links style so it shouldn't be a problem to run it onto greens. I am thinking about adding some lead tape to get the ball up, but it would ruin the sweet look of the club. Just a suggestion, if you're having trouble with you 21 degree hybrid, try a heavier shaft. That fixed my problem with my 712 17*. Sorry to ramble - hope my comments help.

I had the 714 AP2's and recently got the 716 CB's, but use a T-MB 4 iron. My experience is that the T-MB 4 carries about the same as the 714 AP2 3 iron. I play to a 2 and driver speed is 112. I hope this helps you.
