I being an over 70 golfer with a question for you guys. And yes I have been fit for irons etc.but I hit my titleist three wood a 915 f 190 straight as can be. But we all want to hit a driver but I get very little gain with driver and not as straight always now if tried 9-12 degree settings only change is higher ball flight and not much else.ive tried r flex as to senior flex and no difference any one out there has or have this problems .? Thanks harry

    Harry:
I'm 67 with the same problem. So I just hit the 3 and enjoy hitting from the fairway. Love to drive the young guys nuts when I chip and 1 putt for a par.
    Fairways and Greens!

I would suggest a solid fitting, set up a Titleist Thursday if possible or go to a Titleist fitter near you!

Started this crazy game in late 1984 when I moved to SC. Changing to Titleist clubs has helped my game a lot. Whenever a new club comes out I always go to a demo day and get on the trackman with the Titleist tech rep who is a certified fitter. He always puts me with the right Titleist head and shaft. I will be 70 in a few weeks and still hit my 915D2 around the 230+ range. My 15* fairway is probably my weakest of my woods. Am looking at getting a new one this year, because I think my shaft is wrong. Was not properly fit for my 913f. Getting the right shaft makes all the difference. My game is a little off right now and my handicap is up to a 12.8. About the only time I use my 15* is if it is a short dogleg left. I use my 17.25* hybrid on most par fours from the senior tees because that is my 200 yard club and I can usually hit a nine or a PW for the second shot. 716 AP1s have changed my life. Fittings have helped my games, particularly as I have grown older.

If you find fairways with that 3 wood, use it and build your game around it.

I have a buddy who uses nothing but his 5 iron ( which he hits 150 yds, dead straight) tee to green. He consistently shoots in the upper 80's and frustrates those of us who hit it 250-280.
He s the poster guy for keeping it in play, having a great shortgame, and not doing anything stupid. Amazing.

I would check with your local Titleist Rep to see if they have a demo 915D2 12* driver with an overall playing length of 44" or even 43.5", should be able to add loft up to 13.5*. This would be closer to standard 3 wood specs and help get some more roll as well as consistancy.
