Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the major difference between the Ap2 iron and the T-MB? I currently play the Taylor Made Psi iron but have been looking at the T-MB's lately as I play a T-MB 3 iron. Always looking for forgiveness and distance. A little confused as to how the T-MB would play with irons 5-PW.

    Any help would be great.

Hey Ryan, I played the 714 AP2s for two years, then I played the 716 AP2s for a year and now I'm playing T-MB's which I just got fitted for in Oceanside. The AP2s are more forgiving but the T-MB's give a more solid feel and I can shape shots better with them. They are both amazing clubs, but it's really a personal preference. I like the look of the T-MBs at set up and the solid design. Also, I don't have to worry about all the different materials in the composition of the AP2s, but many of the pros play them. You really have to take the time and hit both of them, just like all clubs. One person's opinion is only right for that person. Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for the input. Surprised to hear that the AP2's are more forgiving. I also prefer the look at address with the T-MBs (I hit my buddies 3 iron of that model all the time). I'll definitely try both them out when I get the chance.

I think they are both great clubs and offer the player a bit of everything they want, a smaller look at address, forgiveness and distance. Have you considered a combo set of both the AP2s and T-MBs?

I have played an AP2/T-MB combo set before, and loved it and then switched it up a bit and went to the MB/T-MB combo. But when I had the AP2/T-MB combo, I had 6-PW in AP2 and then 3-5 in T-MB and the set was awesome!

I would say that the T-MBs are a bit more forgiving, as they are a bit bigger over all and the feel isn't as good as the AP2s, but they still feel great. The AP2s are forged, so they will have a softer feel and you can easily adjust them, as compared to the T-MBs (which I believe are not forged).

But they are pretty similar, that you can see what best fits your game after you see an authorized Titleist fitter that can get the right head and shaft combo for you.

Thanks. That was a lot of good information.
