  1. I'm looking for a club that will get good distance and consistency off the tee to go with my inconsistent Driver and 3 Wood. Any suggestions?

  2. I went for a T-MB 2 iron mainly to use on the shorter par 4's, but I also use it off the tee on some par 5's. If I can't reach the green in 2 then there's not much difference in hitting a full 9 or a 3/4 wedge for me for my third.

There are certainly several options available (T-MB 2, 3 or 4 iron, 17 or 19 degree hybrid or maybe even a 5 fairway wood). Best suggestion though is to find a Titleist Thursday event near you and setup an appointment to get fit so you'll know which is the best for you.

    Hi Jackson,

If you haven't been to a Titleist Thursday fitting event before, here is a link to upcoming events and locations: www.titleist.com/thursdays.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance and play well!

Have you tried making your 3 wood into a 4 wood? Assuming you a titleist 3 wood with surefit technology you can add loft and what i have seen at fitting is more loft is your friend and not a enemy

    How to do it:

Take a look at the 816 hybrids when you attend one of the fittings. With the right shaft, they are awesome. I have a 917D 11*, 917F 15* and two 816 hybrids (17* and 21*). And was fitted at the Titleist Thursdays for each of the clubs.

I hear this a lot..."looking for a different club because my driver or 3 metal doesn't work". Well, I guess it depends on why "it doesn't work" or "inconsistent". Most of the time, its because golfers do not have the proper or consistent mechanics. Yes, there are plenty of other club choices (816 hybrids, the TMB's etc,), but these exist to provide proper gaping distances between your set of clubs more than they are to replace a club that "doesn't work". So, here's a suggestion. Why not work on properly fixing what's not "working" or causing the inconsistency with your driver/3 metal? Because, honestly, you'll find that by just trying to replace your long metals with another long club, most likely will produce the same results..."it doesn't work" or "its inconsistent".

I just got the 816H2 21 deg, it is amazing. I was looking for something between my 3wd and 4 iron, to use on tight par 4s or into par 5s. I have used it for 5 rounds now, and its been perfect.
  9. You might try using a 5 wood. When my driver is "acting up" I pull out my trusty 5 5 wood. It goes just 10 yards shorter than the driver but it's straighter than a frozen rope!!!!!

I personally went with a 915h 2 hybrid 18 degree. I was having problems with the 3 wood so I decided to go with a club I have more confidence in. Knock on wood that continues, hope that helps.

I had trouble hitting my "standard" 15 degree 3 wood. I attended a Titlest Thursday fitting and tried and bought a 917 F2 16.5 and that has completely changed my approach and attitude on hitting fairway woods. I love it! It totally complements my 917 D2 Driver.
