In the last 12 months I've had two defective clubs from Titleist, first was one of my wedges 50° SM9 Raw finish with a hairline crack on the hozzle straight out of the box, this has been replaced now fortunately. Then over two weeks ago my T200 2 iron, the shaft inside the ferrule and hozzle had snapped with only being 8 months old. Like I said that was over 2 weeks ago and still do not know what's going on with my 2 iron even though its back in Titleist's capable hands. Has anyone else had any defective club experiences over the last 12 months. I've been a Titleist fan for over 15 years and not really used any other brand if I'm totally honest. I'm looking forward to the new TSR range but after these two occurrences I may be swayed towards another brand. See photos attached.

I guarantee that other brands have had issues over the last 24 months, especially with flaws in components. Yes, the crack in the wedge should have been seen, even by the tireless workers running on overtime to handle the backlogs. The internal graphite of the utility club has no way to be detected and they must rely on the quality reputation of the supplier.

I've had no issues with any of my Titleist clubs and have been using them for the last 12 years. I do read a lot on golf forums and every OEM has been experiencing problems with club and component failures. It is unfortunate, but it happens. I hope you get them replace/repaired sooner than later.

Sounds like you just got unlucky, which is unfortunate. Every brand has issues like this. Recommend you stick it out with Titleist. They are the best out there.

I have always had good luck with Titleist. Looks like just one of those unlucky things.
  7. I'm close to done - bought a walking golf bag - tore along one seam and the shoulder strap is coming apart - contacted Titleist and they said they were "on it" and dropped it. Bought a set of T100s, at 1.5 years, the chrome is flaking off my 5-iron. Out of warranty and the rep that deals with the outfit that sold me the clubs has not responded in 2 months. Yesterday, hitting my 7 iron the shaft snapped inside the hosel. I'm fine with issues happening from time to time; it's the lack of care in dealing with the issues that I have a problem with.
  8. Knock on wood, I have had the opposite. Titleist is the one company whose quality matches what I order. Builds always arrive to exact spec I ordered (length, loft, lie). Can’t say I have had another OEM ship with what I had ordered in a very long time. I have had 0 issues with my Titleist equipment (driver, irons, wedge).

Been playing Titleist for 13 years now. One problem was an SM6 60-12 that I bent to 57 where the hosel snapped when I tried to return it to 58*; however, that was “operator error” and a lesson learned.

I was fitted for the new GT driver recently and Hybrid and T200/T150 irons last February with no issues.

With the amount of clubs that Titleist builds it’s possible to have some issues. At least they covered the repairs for you.

Chrome peeling has been an major issue, and the backplates falling off the 350s. Sad to see issues, but with the volume they do it seems rational that defects occur.
  12. I bought clubs from Golftown last year, T300 irons. Noticed that the 4,5,6,9 and PW the chrome is starting to flake off. Didn’t know this was an issue, but got me thinking are these fake… I had 718s before and loved them, no problems at all but these…..also noticed no serial numbers on any of the clubs….is this normal and is the chrome flaking an issue…?
  13. I bought some T300 irons from Golf-town last year and played with them for one season and now noticing that my 4,5,6,9,PW the chrome on the club heads are starting to flake off. I had 718 irons before these and they were awesome, no problems at all so now I’m thinking are these fake or is this some issue that Titleist has with these new clubs? also, is it normal that I don’t have any serial numbers at all on any of my clubs? On all my other clubs there’s a serial number on them but on these not even the six iron has a serial number on it.
  14. You should be good to go if they were purchased new. If used, then yeah you could have a fake set unfortunately.
