  1. First, as you all are probably aware, this club does not disappoint. There are a variety of new technologies built into the design which will continue to keep Titleist on top of the driver count on tour. One aspect of this is the proprietary light weight material around the crown on the head, super light weight but very strong also. The face still has ATI in the sweet spot but also sports a lightweight chasis around it. The weight is still in the back and now also sits low on the front. Lastly, the shape is far more aerodynamic than previously designs so I gained 1-3 mph more clubhead speed...couldnt believe it!

If you have got fit for this new GT you already know how powerful and accurate it is...if not, get scheduled this new club is going in the bag as soon as I see it the Fedex Truck!!

    Cheers

My fitting was 7/12 and my build sheet is showing a ship date of 8/21. My fitter told me he thought they would ship early August.

And I know you got dialed in for sure. I believe Josh Burgbacher was your fitter, the same guy that was helping us during the club demos at the Folds of Honor event. I have often said fitter are like doctors, they all are schooled in what they do but all have varying degrees of ability and expertise. Josh is a "heart surgeon" among fitters. You can feel certain that you are matched for an ideal head and shaft combo. Let us know when it shows up at the front door. Enjoy!

Dale - This makes me so excited to get fit by Josh in the Cincy/Dayton area on the 15th. I'm really looking forward to his fitting of not only my driver but the fariway woods. Can't wait!

I was fit today for the new GT. I am old school and much more about the feel of the driver than a potential 10 yard gain. I was fit to the new png driver and the numbers were awesome but could not pull the trigger because I did not like the feel. I am still playing the TSi3 becasue i did not see a giant gain in the TSR3. WOW. I was done 15 minutes in. This driver does not disappoint. GT2 felt as good as the 3 and i really liked the forgiveness of the 2. Best feeling driver I have hit in a long time. Will order as soon as possible.. Tensei S 65g. Super excited about this driver.
  10. How does one go about scheduling the fitting for the gt drivers?
  11. Not sure if you've found out yet, but you can find a venue by searching here.

Nathan - from my understanding there were emails sent out about GT Driver fittings. I believe around late July/August all the fitters will be able to fit for GT woods.

However - check out this post and see if there is a fitting/opening near you.

I think I saw you (based on your pic) at the Mason fitting on Monday afternoon. I was fit into the GT3 driver.....found a wow moment with the dispersion compared to my current TSi3. Unbelievably good.

Michael Yes I was there! I was fit into that as well 11 degree with Graphite Design Tour AD DI-6. Everything for me was an upgrade as I am replacing a 917! Can't wait to get the woods in the bag!

I had mine last week, ended up in the GT3 driver and fairways, I saw a 3.5 mph ball speed increase with the driver, fairways were similar in distance, but I liked the feel more than the TSR line.

If this is the case for me, I won't touch the fairways. I love my TSR3, but I could definitely benefit from an up to date driver fitting. Were there any low lofted fairway options, like a TSR2+? 2 wood?

I didn’t look into the fairways much, just hit the 3 and 5 wood and that was good enough for me to go with them. I didn’t notice a 2+ style wood to choose from.
  18. Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m scheduled for a fitting in a couple of weeks.
  19. Has it arrived yet for you to put in play? Curious how it performs under the pressure of being on course.
  20. I’ve gotten a few rounds in with the GT woods so far. Found them to be even better than in my fitting. Feel is great and they are really easy to hit, still seeing the 5-9 yard gain I saw in the fitting but now with a few more swings with it, I can really control the shape easily.

Any thoughts on driver length. I have been playing for about 12 years and have progressed drastically through the years. Currently a +12 handicap. However I shave always struggled with the driver as most of us do. Sometime you hit some times your not. The more I look into it I think it is because my driver is too long. Stock is 46” and I had it cut down to 45”. The guy at my local golf store talked me out of going any shorter, stating that I will loose speed. However, would the control and consistency outweigh a few mph. I am 38 and 5’3” swing a TSR2 10* with a LAGolf A Series Mid 50. I almost feel like I could go 43.5” but do not want to cut down any of my nice shafts until I am off the fence.

Many pros go with 44.5. When driving 300+ yards, 5-10 more yards and missing 4 or more fairways with a 45.5 club hurts them.
Watching the LPGA events, almost all women under 5’7” use what appears to be 45 inch drivers. But almost all choke down over an inch. Try that with spray powder on the face and see if you are more accurate and check your distance - and maybe dispersion, as well.
Maybe decrease the lie angle as well. Just guessing if that would also be a factor.

The official date will be in August. Titleist is offering teaser fittings to create interest, for now. Keep checking with your local pro shops.

I know this is heresy - I'm still in a 917. I love it because I know where it's going. Skipped all of the TSRs. Definitely getting into a GT. Can't wait!
  26. I still play the 910 D3 because up to this point ech driver I tested amounted to only 5 extra yards, and this was not worth a $700 spend on one club...maybe its time.

If you bought the club new, and you are still around 40, you might be right. If you have been hitting floor models at a retailer, you might be missing some benefits of newer technologies.
So, if you wish you were still 50 and you have lost a few yards, it might be worth to pay the $100 fee to see if they can find enough improvement to make it worth an upgrade. That $100 can be applied to any club fitted and purchased that day. At 74, will wait until spring to see if the GT-1 improves on a TSR-2. I’m definitely not getting younger.
  28. Had my GT fitting yesterday - went from a full set of Paradym Triple Diamond (Dr, 3w, 5w) to a full set of GT3's in same category. Interestingly shaft went from Tensei White Stiff to Tensei Blue X-Stiff. GT feeling really nice off the face, plenty of distance and forgiveness in this line
  29. Are you my doppelgänger . I just had my fitting done yesterday. Replaced Paradym Triple Diamond Dr 3W and Hybrid. Replaced with the GT3 Pro Tensei White 1K 80 gram, GT2 same shaft and GT3 5W same shaft. I cannot wait for them to show. Lowered my spin by 500-600 RPM. Increased ball speed by 7 mph. Added close to 15 yards of carry. Best of luck to you with the new sticks
  30. Haha maybe! Spin came down for me as well, carry and total jumped by 10-15 yards. Fitter initially started out with Tensei White in Stiff but we found that the Blue X-Stiff helped flight it a bit higher and felt more controlled. Ordered the day after the fitting, can't wait to game them as well

I am getting fit tomorrow. I have had a lot of success with the TSR2 and I am thinking about moving into a GT3. Does anyone know when the driver will ship after these early fittings?
  33. Man, I couldn't agree more about the feel aspect. I got fitted two days ago. The best way I can describe the feeling at contact is it's kind of like the feeling of hitting a flat serve with really heavy tensioned strings in tennis. Lol

It's very stable on off center strikes and it sounds really good.

I can't wait until my fitting. No titleist fittings near me, but the guy at pga superstore says he should have demo heads by third week of July.

I've had my GT2 in play for a couple weeks now. And wanted to wait and report post fitting to see if what I saw during the fitting actually carried over to the course, as that's where it really counts.

In short a definitive yes! I have played 2.5 rounds with the GT2 10.0 Denali Red 5.5 and my AVERAGE drives are up 15 to 20 yards over my TSR1. Most of this is due to an increase in CHS of about 2 to 3 mph and lower spin of 500 to 600 rpm.

In addition the sound just amazing, it makes it sound like I'm really killing the ball when well let's be honest. It's not a JT or Hax sound....ha

Also the FW are very good as well. The 7 wood in particular is giving me that easy high launch flight from about 180 yards that I was looking for.

Here's a sneak peak at them.

Has anyone seen these in the wild yet for average Joes to get fit? As of this morning, neither my local fitter, nor the local Golf Galaxy or PGA Superstore have demo heads yet.

Went to my fitting today and was fit for GT4-8–Denali Red 60 stiff shaft. Can’t wait to take it out on course and test against my current gamer.
