  1. Greets, First post/question for me in here.... I have TSR2 driver, 3 wood, and 18 degree hybrid. All have Hzrdus stiff shafts. Spec lengths, as in Bone stock. I'm having a little issue, as I'm having problems feeling where the head is during my swing. I'm gonna change the weights out of the heads, as in make them heavier, in order to gain more feel. Has anyone done this before (probably), and if so, what weight did you ultimately settler on? Thank you in advance for any help with this....

Every player has a "magic" swingweight that feels good to them. Probably best to start with lead tape, adding in increments to the point where it's where you like it, then swap out the lead tape with the appropriate surefit weights.

Yes, I am plus 4 grams in mine and we worked that out during our fitting sessions. You can buy several different ones and experiment or start with lead tape and transition to new weights once you settle on just how heavy works for you without slowing down your swing.

Nothing is harder than the path you are going to walk re fitting golf clubs. Hopefully your golf course is Titleist affiliated and will have a stock of various weights. The weights are sorted in grams so go up a few grams and see what happens. The increased weight will affect how the shaft flexes. Trial and error is the only way to go and one of the least important factors is how much the swingweight of the club is changing. But....! Once you have the appropriate weight with the shaft you can keep that for a long time.

Here are a couple factoids on TSR1 and TSR2 heads: the TSR2 is two swingweight points heavier vs TSR1. I have TSR1 7 wood and 9 wood with Diamana 72 x5ct standard length and have 5g headweights to maintain D2 swingweight with Excel RF oversize. My 3W is TSR2 with same shaft and 42.5” length; I have a Dri Tac wrap grip with a 5g headweight to maintain D2.

For awhile was playing 7 and 9 woods at -1/2” and had 11g weights. I went to standard length about 3 months ago. The 20 fairway swings like a 913F 5 wood and the 23 fairway swings like a 910F 7 wood.

In the attachment below, look near the tree on the left. That is the tee shot I hit with the TSR2 3 wood. About 15 yards behind it on the left side of the fairway is my driver tee shot.

Yep, since Titleist started designing changeable weights I've gone heavier than stock. For the exact same reason, couldn't feel the clubhead at the top when standard.

Current driver is TSR3 with a +6 weight. I was not fit into +6 (fitter didn't have extra weights at fitting), so just tried +2 and +4 before landing on +6. TSR3 3 wood, TS2 18* and TSR 4Hyb all have +4.

Note: I also play Midsize grips which are heavier than Std, so part of reason is to offset the added grip weight to keep overall swing weight right where I like it. Just had a GT3 fitting, +4 felt the best but with a Std grip. My order is +6 weight with a Midsize grip.

    Enjoy the journey!

Hi Ross, I currently play the TSR3 Driver, 4 Wood and 7 Wood and I have changed all head weights, not for the feel regarding the head, but to bring the swingweight up to D4-5 in the Driver and D3-4 in the woods, for the general feel I need. I can just suggest test this out during a fitting session, to see if it helps you with your feel and also to review the numbers, which will change then also. But I also suggest to test some other shaft options, perhaps flex, perhaps weight, perhaps shaft profile and go for the one which give you the best feeling = confidence = best results.
  8. yes, I do it all the time...usually go to lead tape first to dial it in then if I am adding or subtracting major weight changes then go to different weights. Lead tape goes a long way!

    Cheers!

I just dialed in my TSR1 18 fairway. It has a Diamana 70 R at 42" with an Excel RF oversize grip. I've been pretty comfortable with a D2 swingweight on my clubs. A +2 headweight puts me right on the nose. It seemed to hit OK off mats at the driving range at Riverwalk. When I did tee shots at Miramar (which is grass), I went to -2 , std and +2. The best feel off a tee and on the ground was +2 (11g).
