Lead Tape Tinkering

  1. Hey everyone, I have a question regarding lead tape since I'm tinkering a little this off season.

I play the 718 CBs 4-PW which I absolutely love along with SM10 wedges 52, 56, 60. I recently added a 48 SM10 to kind of close that gap between my PW and 52. Before I get grilled, I was looking at a 50 but found a 48 used so I figured I can mess with it first. Well, theres not as much of a gap as I would like and I'm still hitting the 48 around the same as my PW (I know 1 degree difference). So the question is, if I add just a small amount of lead tape to the back of the 48, where might I see some of the effects? Take off some yards? Difference in ball flight? Spin?

Like I said just tinkering, but want to pick some brains here. Thanks!

Just bend it to the loft you need.

Work with a shop. Another option is to fit the G to 48 or the 52 to 51. …or both. The 48 is overkill and even a 50 will be hard to define when to use in place of either the G or 52.
