Received my new 910D3 yesterday. Have already hit some practice balls with it and can't wait to play tomorrow, but what's up with the headcover?

I'm coming from a 907D2 that had a zipper on the headcover - not the best design.

The 909 series has a very handy magnetic closure.

I think they've taken two steps back with the "retro" pull-on sock design. You need two hands to get it back on, and no way you can do it while walking off the tee with your bag already over your shoulder.

    What do you think?

I totally agree.  Just got a new set of woods, and the headcover for the D2 is a pain to put back on.  My 3 wood and hybrids  are not a problem though.

Spot on, Pete. I have 910D2 and am loving it.  I'm pretty sure you will once you get on the course (good luck in finding your setting). The cover is indeed hard to remove and put-on, I can't agree with you more on your opinion about the headcover. I guess it just had to look different from its predecessors... "New driver technology but old headcover design"!

I was able to keep my 909D headcover, I'm thinking of using it instead... maybe i'll just cut the old stitching of the 909D???

I like the fact that the 910D cover is the sock style again.  It protects the shaft much better IMO. I didn't like or use the 909D cover.  I guess it shows you can't make everyone happy.  Cheers and enjoy your driver.

To each his own.  I really like the design on the 910 headcover.  I couldn't stand the zipper on the 907 and wasn't big on the magnets for the 909.  It's okay to mix some old school style (910 headcover) with some new school technology in the 910 driver.

    Hey Guys,

I brought up this same subject 2 months ago after I got my D3. At the time, I had several people give me instructions on how to pull off a head cover as if I couldn't figure that out. It took me at least 25 lbs of pull to get off. I like my D3 so much that my son got one. His head cover is much easier to pull off; only 5 lbs of force. My cover was obviously made to small. However, I have turned it into a positive in that I can warm up with the head cover on and swing as fast as I want, ha.

By the way, I contacted Titliest about producing anaftermarket head cover similar to the 909. They have no plans to to that. They said their survey indicated a majority of players wanted the sock style. Some say for protection of the shaft. I have had a hybid club with a head cover with no sock shaft protection for 6 years and see no wear on the shaft as yet and I carry.

Again, to each his own. I for one really like the new head cover. I had a 907D2 before getting my 910D2 and it had the zipper cover. It's just something about the new one that I really like. True it's a bit of a pain to put back on, but I think taking it off is a breeze with the little grab handle. I've had mine about a month now and it's seems to be loosening up a bit as well. Regardless of it all, the driver itself is so awesome, I could care less.

i have used the 907 zipper cover, 909 magnet, and the 910 cover which i am currently using. I think the 909 magnet was the easiest one by far. But i really like the look of the new 910s. Over all i think that after you hit your 910 down the fairway, you have plenty of time to put the headcover on.

I agree the magnetic covers are better, but there are much worse fitting covers out there today.......2 weeks before I bought my 910,I bought  a k 15. Nice driver, but the cover was almost impossible to get on or off.It was an unimaginable fight to the point where you think you might break the club trying to get it on.

Didn't like the 907 and I'm not a huge fan of the 910 cover either.  I like the sock style, but just meh for me.  I have a Caddyshack Gopher that I'll game until the day I die.  Problem solved.

I'm playing the 909 and using the magnetic headcover and it is pretty quick and easy, but i don't know man, i kinda like the sock on the 910. My only complaint with is is that if they were gonna use the classic look of the sock bottom, maybe the top should have been a little more traditional to. idk. i think overall it's a nice look, but even though it takes some added effort of pulling it on and off every time, it's better to keep the sword in the sheath until your on the tee box. i scratched mine up pretty bad with some alignment sticks.
