  1. We travelled to Prescott Arizona from Tucson for a few days to get away for a bit. We signed up to play Stone Ridge Golf Course in Prescott Valley for two straight days. Stone Ridge is a tough course with sever elevation changes. Probably the most sever I’ve seen. I played the gold tees which are 6325 yards and a 133 slope rating. With the elevation changes the course plays much longer than the scorecard indicates. My hole in one came on the 17 hole. A sever downhill par three with a multi tiered green. The previous day I left a 7 iron short, so with a back pin position and quartering wind into us from the left, I chose a 6 iron. When I first addressed the ball I realized I pulled the 9 iron. Thankfully I want back for the six. The swing was smooth and contact was flush on the club face. The pin was back left and I hit a soft draw that landed about 12 feet right of the hole right on the slope of the top tier. The ball landed soft and took the slope rolling into the hole. I could not see it but my playing companion, a man by the name of Tim, was convinced it went in. After an anxious ride down the twisting and turning cart path, I walked onto the green to find the ball in the bottom of the cup. What a thrill. High fives all over and even a cheer from the group behind us.
