The morning of August 28th, 2024, myself, Dave Schick & Tyler Bayne were set to play 18 at the Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk, NE. The course had been closed the previous two days for aeration. They had us start on the back nine and all of us were playing less than stellar. We were having fun and enjoying each other’s company despite our struggles. We all had some good shots as well as some ugly ones. As we got around to the front nine, our play was still adventurous to say the least. We all had just struggled on par 5 #6 and was ready for the par 3 to follow. I had honors and sized up #7 and my smart watch showed me it was playing 138yds. I chose a 9 iron and lined up my stance. I made great contact and Tyler said hey that looks pretty good. Dave also said that it has a good line. Then we watched it land and bounce, roll just a little and then disappear! We yelled and jumped around and high fives and I couldn’t believe I just hit my first hole in one! What a day!
