After an uneventful opening 12 holes, I approached the 13th low on confidence. How one strike can make a difference !! It was a longish par 3, 168 yards uphill with bunkers protecting the green. I have only played the course once before so wasn't sure which club to use. Being wind into and uphill, I selected my trusty 4 hybrid and let it go. It was a good strike, drawing towards the green. I could just see it bounce and then the hill took out the view *you could only see the top half of the flag. As I approached the green (my three other playing partners had all hit short/wide) I couldn't see a ball. I didn't think anything of it, assuming it had rolled through the green. My playing partner suggested that I looked in the hole - I thought he maybe setting me up for disappointment. After checking the back of the green, I gingerly decided to look in the hole. Low and behold, there it was. What a feeling !! After that I parred four of the next five holes. The best bit.....it was a corporate day and the drinks behind the bar were paid for. Got away scott free.
