I am a soccer coach for a local high school. Tuesday we had a game scheduled but it was rescheduled for Saturday afternoon. I had a previously scheduled tee time with some friends that I now had to cancel. Then the head coach text me and said the other team actually wanted to play the game later in the evening. This then freed up my schedule to go out and play the round.

I’m not a great golfer, I correct myself, I’m still developing as a golfer. It also was pretty cold out. About 40 degrees with some wind. The front 9 went pretty normal. I shot 10 over which is decent for me. I went through the paces of the back 9 and on hole 14, I shot 3 over. We moved on to hole 15, the first par three in about 9 holes. It was a 165, slightly uphill, and slightly hidden green. There was a breeze coming diagonally off a hill on the right hand side. I picked a line about 5-10 yards off the flag. I grabbed my 6 iron, took my practice swing, and let it fly. It felt great off the face and the ball flight did what it almost never does, actually did what I hoped it would do. There was some tall grass that hid the hole location, but my buddy watch it on his rangefinder. He said he saw it land and then it disappeared. In my head the only logical conclusion is I overshot the green. So I hesitantly but anxiously waited for the rest of my group to take their shots. We got in our carts, and my buddy took out his phone to film the reaction. I slowly approached the hole and started my line towards the back of the green. I look in the cup, see my Pro V1 #13 which I hit off the tee box, and the rest is history.
