Never heard that before. I think Phil has too much time on his hands. The maintenance crews would have to cut fairways and greens. They can't reproduce sun angle, wind or temps so I doubt Phil's idea will get any mileage.

I'm in two minds on this: as a player, I'd love to play on freshly prepped greens in the afternoon, as a former golf course employee, possibly a logistics nightmare with golfers and fans everywhere on the course, not to mention an even more grueling work schedule on top of what tournament prep already entails.

Just to clarify though, the Tour typically only double tees on Thurs/Fri, right?

Golf is played on grass and grass grows...early/late or late/early tee times probably all balance out in the end.
