Titleist has never had a policy to buy superstars for their stable as some of the other retail/annual upgrade competitors have. When the swoosh left the field for equipment, that has more pros not signing 13/14 club contracts anymore. This effect has been seen as many events this year, Titleist has been #1 in not just balls, wedges, and putters on tour, but irons, hybrids, and woods as well. A 25 million a year contract can cope with fewer victories, but at the lower echelons, it is all about winning first, endorsements second. CH-III and Ian are two recent converts that have "rejuvenated" their careers, in part by moving to Titleist.

I use to play Callys, and titleist go me with a simple club fitting hitting different brands. Titleist just makes a great club

You're right - when they bought their own clubs they picked the best available - Titleist!!
You know, the ones that got them to professional status.

Now they get paid mega-money to play kit that's made to measure for them and feels how they like clubs to feel... probably like the feel they used to get from Titleist!!

If there was no endorsement money - I believe Titleist (which is winning the ball count and most club counts now) would dominate the pro ranks because of the quality and consistency of their products shot to shot, round to round, and season to season!!!

Interesting story behind the transition of Tiger's irons from Titleist to swoosh. He did it one club at a time and it took the whole year. He wanted to make sure they did an exact copy of each club to the original Titleists he played. Guess they needed to match the best to be the best.

Same with TM when your as big as Tiger you can get anything you want.

He pretty much made the modern game what it is today.

I still think Titleist should have backed a Brinks truck up to Tiger, I understand not doing it to the rest of the guys.

Why? Titleist has always focused on the golf..... swoosh has NOT. swoosh has the bankroll huge endorsements because of the other athletic products in football, baseball, basketball, etc. Remember they said they would put Titleist out of the golf business when they entered the golf club market. Funny, they no longer have their name on clubs, balls, or bags....... but Titleist does..... and Tiger is a very rich man....... as to signing large endorsements, I encourage to pros to do what is best for their career and the future. Their careers can be shortened and they are independent contractors with no guarantees. .........just sayin' "with respect to all opinions....."

When you buy off the rack I’m of the belief that Titleist is the closest you can get to tour quality. I’ve been in the industry for some time now, I’ve seen certain brands have major issues with quality control. Titleist has not had the same warranty replacement issues at my club/shop as a couple of other brands. You get what you pay for in life generally speaking.

You can't go wrong when you buy quality and you get what you pay for.

Titleist is consistently the best quality products for all its products.

Titleist has always done the same thing, they throw product at the young up & comers. When they start winning they get too much money thrown at them to stay, Titleist doesn't pay. The only reason Jordan & Justin stayed is they signed endorsement contracts with other companies for the bulk of income.
